The first failure boundary is PROFIBUS DP setup. The participant address must be unique on the segment, and the terminating resistor must match the encoder’s actual bus position. If the controller project uses a different GSD configuration, scaling value, preset setting, direction parameter, or 13-bit resolution reference, communication may remain normal while the shaft angle becomes wrong.
