The first failure boundary is PROFIBUS parameter consistency. The participant address must be unique on the segment, and the terminating resistor must reflect the encoder’s actual bus position. If the PLC project uses a different GSD setup, scaling reference, preset value, direction parameter, or 13-bit resolution setting, communication may remain present while the angle value becomes incorrect.
