The C-FGH6KK-2500G-90G-NG-V-S-J/50P is a hollow-shaft incremental encoder used for speed measurement and position feedback in heavy-duty equipment. The original unit installed in this application has no electronic overspeed switch, and the custom replacement does not include one. The replacement is designed to match the mounting, incremental signals, and wiring of the installed unit.
The original encoder has a 50 mm hollow bore with a keyway. To fit the existing shaft, the custom design must match the bore diameter, keyway dimensions, axial retention method, and anti-rotation support position. The terminal box layout and terminal assignments are also checked against the installed unit.

This model has a base resolution of 2500 PPR. It provides A and B channels with a 90° phase shift, an index pulse, and the complementary signal for each. Option V denotes electronic pulse doubling on the A and B channels. If pulse doubling is applied to the 2500 PPR base configuration, each channel outputs 5000 pulses per revolution. To preserve the existing speed scaling, the custom encoder is specified using the measured output of the original unit and the controller’s counting settings.
Option J uses an optically adjusted code disc to reduce rotational frequency modulation. If the equipment calculates instantaneous speed from the time between pulses, acceptance testing should check both the pulse count per revolution and the uniformity of pulse spacing at constant speed.
The FGH 6 manual lists a standard supply range of 12–30 VDC, while the custom replacement operates at 10–30 VDC. Before finalizing the design, we check the site supply voltage and output levels against the original nameplate and wiring documentation, then match the A, B, index, and complementary signals used by the control system.
