For a port machinery customer’s equipment maintenance requirement, we developed a customized product based on the original mechanical structure of the 770954-01 XHI803. The main requirement was to keep all mechanical mounting dimensions the same as the original encoder, including the shaft bore, flange, and mounting structure, so the new encoder could fit the existing installation with minimal mechanical modification.
The 770954-01 XHI803 is a heavy-duty blind hollow shaft incremental encoder with a 16 mm blind hollow shaft, an 86 mm flange, 1024 PPR resolution, and HC-HTL output. It uses a cable gland connection and is equipped with a torque support.

For this type of encoder used on port machinery, mechanical matching is an important part of the customization. In addition to the shaft bore, the flange dimensions, torque support position, and overall installation space must correspond to the original setup. For this project, the customized encoder was produced with a 1:1 mechanical dimensional match to the original unit.
The original encoder operates from 9–30 VDC, while the customized product uses 10–30 VDC. This is a clear difference between the original and customized versions, so the actual machine supply voltage should be confirmed before installation.
The signal configuration is matched to the original incremental output so that the customized encoder can continue to work with the existing control system.
