CEV65M-10121 is a multiturn absolute encoder with PROFIBUS-DP communication. For this model, we can develop a customized product based on the original mechanical installation and communication parameters while keeping the key mounting dimensions unchanged.
The original model has a 12-bit single-turn resolution (4096 steps/rev) and a 12-bit multiturn resolution (4096 revolutions). Its supply voltage range is 11–27 VDC, and it uses a PROFIBUS-DP interface with radial connection.
For the customized version, the main mounting dimensions are kept consistent with the original encoder, while the housing diameter is changed to 60 mm. Although the housing diameter is different, this change does not affect the actual installation or operation, so no modification to the existing mounting structure is required.
There is also a difference in the supply voltage range. The original encoder operates from 11–27 VDC, while the customized product uses 10–30 VDC. For systems using a typical 24 VDC supply, this range is suitable, but the actual machine supply should still be confirmed before installation.
One important point with the CEV65M-10121 is that it is a PROFIBUS-DP encoder. The customized product requires a new GSD file. Even if the mechanical installation and main communication parameters are matched, the original encoder’s GSD file should not be reused.
Before replacement, the automation or PLC technician should be informed in advance so that the new GSD file can be prepared and imported into the control system. The device should then be configured according to the existing PROFIBUS-DP network settings.
