EncoderWorks provides a custom compatible replacement solution for 825721-01 RSA 506 focused on maintaining analog 4–20 mA feedback behavior, Ø6 mm shaft adaptation, and long cable signal integration. The replacement challenge is not only reproducing the current output range, but also preserving the relationship between shaft position, active angle configuration, and controller-side current signal interpretation. A valid analog signal can still produce incorrect position feedback if scaling, cable transmission, or mechanical installation conditions are not matched.

System Limits

Analog encoder replacement depends on maintaining consistent current output behavior between the encoder and the controller. The 825721-01 RSA 506 uses a 4–20 mA analog output with 10-bit singleturn resolution and a 360° active angle. Output scaling, active angle configuration, signal direction, preset behavior, and code sequence settings must be matched because differences in current interpretation can cause incorrect position calculation or additional commissioning adjustments.

The mechanical integration boundary includes shaft fit, flange mounting, and long cable installation stability. This model uses a Ø6 mm shaft with partial flat and a clamping flange (61-type) mounting structure, together with a 15 m radial cable connection. Shaft orientation, partial flat alignment, flange positioning, cable routing, shielding, and grounding continuity should be maintained because mechanical mismatch or electrical interference can affect long-distance feedback reliability.

Wiring & Installation

The analog interface requires verification of power supply, current output, preset, code sequence, and chassis shield connections. The configuration uses dedicated wiring for +E Volt, 0 Volt, I out, preset, code sequence, and shield. Incorrect current output wiring, poor shielding continuity, or improper grounding may result in unstable feedback values, signal interference, or increased commissioning difficulty.

During replacement installation, the Ø6 mm shaft with partial flat and clamping flange interface should be checked against the existing machine structure. The 15 m cable routing path, cable protection, mounting stability, and vibration conditions should be considered together to maintain reliable position feedback in industrial applications.
