ZE65S 170-00005 is an older parallel absolute encoder. For legacy equipment replacement, we can develop a customized version based on the original mounting dimensions and signal configuration, with the aim of keeping the existing mechanical installation unchanged.
The encoder has an outer diameter of approximately 65 mm, a 10 mm solid shaft, and a 36 mm pilot diameter. It uses a parallel interface with a Push-Pull output stage. The original model operates at 11–27 VDC and was available with two code formats: GRAY code and BCD code.
For the GRAY version, the customized encoder can retain the original Gray code output.

For the BCD version, our customized solution uses Binary code instead of BCD code. This is an important difference because BCD and Binary represent position data in different ways. The control system must therefore support Binary code, or the relevant input logic must be adjusted before replacement.
The customized encoder uses a 10–30 VDC supply range, which differs from the original 11–27 VDC specification. This wider range should still be checked against the actual machine supply before installation.
For ZE65S 170-00005, the main replacement considerations are maintaining the original mechanical installation, confirming the parallel output format, and identifying whether the existing encoder uses GRAY or BCD code. The code format is especially important for BCD versions because the customized product changes this to Binary.
