RSA 608 549849-01 is a multiturn absolute encoder. For a Turkish customer’s equipment maintenance requirement, we developed a customized product based on the original mechanical installation and PROFIBUS DP communication configuration. This model has been discontinued, and the original datasheet is clearly marked “OBSOLETE MODEL.”
The original encoder has an outer diameter of 58 mm, a clamping flange, and a 10 mm solid shaft. Its absolute resolution is 25 bit, consisting of 13 bit single-turn and 12 bit multiturn resolution. The communication interface is PROFIBUS DP, with a radial cable-gland connection. The original supply voltage range is 9–36 VDC.
The customized product retains the original mechanical installation and main signal configuration so that it can continue to work with the existing PROFIBUS DP control system. For this type of multiturn absolute encoder, the bus address, communication configuration, and wiring definitions also need to be confirmed before replacement.
One difference is the power supply range. The customized encoder uses 10–30 VDC, compared with 9–36 VDC for the original model. The actual machine supply should therefore be checked to ensure that it falls within the operating range of the customized product.
For the discontinued RSA 608 549849-01, this customized solution is intended to support continued equipment maintenance while preserving the existing mounting conditions and PROFIBUS DP communication requirements.
