OCE-EIC1B-1413-E140-HFZ Profinet Encoder with ATEX Hollow-Shaft Fit

For OCE-EIC1B-1413-E140-HFZ, EncoderWorks can provide a custom compatible replacement solution for Profinet absolute feedback systems where the key checks are GSDML configuration, IP addressing, 13-bit / 14-bit position scaling, and ø14 mm blind-hollow shaft fit. The replacement must be verified as both a network device and an ATEX mechanical assembly, because a mechanically similar encoder can still fail if the PLC rejects parameterization or reads the wrong position structure. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

This model is used where a PLC expects absolute multiturn position through Profinet instead of parallel wiring, SSI, CANopen, or Profibus. Replacement work should confirm the Profinet profile, device name, IP settings, diagnostic behavior, preset function, counting direction, fractional scaling, radial connection layout, and blind-hollow shaft engagement before the machine returns to service.

System Limits

The main system limit is Profinet configuration. The PLC may depend on a specific GSDML file, device name, profile setting, cycle time, scaling method, and diagnostic response. If these values are not matched, the encoder may appear on the network but fail commissioning or return an incorrect position value.

The second limit is multiturn scaling. This model combines 13-bit singleturn and 14-bit multiturn data, so the replacement must be checked across more than one revolution. Preset, direction, gearing factor, and fractional scaling should be verified from the controller side, not only from the encoder label.

The mechanical and EMC limits are the ø14 mm blind-hollow shaft, ø78 mm ATEX flange, and Ethernet shield path. Shaft preload or dynamic misalignment can shorten bearing life, while poor shield grounding or noisy cable routing can create intermittent Profinet faults in Oil & Gas drive environments.

Wiring & Installation

Before removing the existing encoder, record the Profinet device name, IP address method, PLC hardware configuration, GSDML version, cable routing, shield connection, and mechanical zero position. The replacement should be checked against the controller project before startup.

After installation, confirm that the device enters normal Profinet communication, reports stable diagnostics, and returns the expected absolute position. Then test preset, counting direction, scaling, and multiturn travel through actual shaft rotation.

Custom Compatible Solution

EncoderWorks can configure the replacement around the installed Profinet system:

  • Match Profinet communication, GSDML configuration, device name, IP settings, and diagnostic behavior
  • Verify 13-bit singleturn, 14-bit multiturn, binary value reading, preset, direction, and scaling
  • Adapt the ø78 mm ATEX blind-hollow flange, ø14 mm bore, radial connection layout, and housing format
  • Review Ethernet shielding, grounding, cable routing, and blind-hollow shaft load for stable operation
