The CDV115M-00001 is a heavy-duty multiturn absolute encoder with a dual scanning system. For equipment still using this model, we can manufacture a custom replacement based on the original specifications and application requirements for equipment maintenance and spare-part replacement.
This model provides 8192 positions per revolution and a multiturn range of 4096 revolutions, corresponding to 13-bit single-turn resolution and a 12-bit multiturn range. Compared with the CDV115M-00002, which provides 4096 positions per revolution, it offers twice as many distinguishable positions within one revolution while retaining the same multiturn range. This increases position resolution; it does not necessarily double absolute measurement accuracy.

Another defining feature of the CDV115M-00001 is that both scanning systems use an SSI + Incremental configuration. Each system provides Gray-coded SSI absolute position data alongside 2048 PPR incremental signals at RS422 levels, including K1, K2, and their complementary signals. Before specifying a custom replacement, it is therefore necessary to confirm which system the equipment uses and whether both feedback systems are required, so that all signals needed by the existing control system are accounted for.
The original encoder features a ZB85 flange, a 20 mm keyed solid shaft, and a heavy-duty housing, with radially arranged electrical connections. The datasheet also specifies a heating function, an operating temperature range of −40 to +70°C, and an IP65 protection rating. For equipment operating in low-temperature environments, the use of the original heating function should be checked and any corresponding requirements included in the custom design.
The original supply voltage range is 11–27 VDC, while the custom replacement uses 10–30 VDC. Both ranges cover typical 24 VDC supplies. Replacement also requires checking the SSI data format, counting direction, and preset function against the original pin assignment. For this dual scanning encoder, identifying the feedback configuration actually used by the equipment, then matching the mechanical mounting and electrical specifications, is essential to defining a suitable replacement.
