The HOG71 DN 1024 CI 12H7 is an optical incremental encoder used for speed measurement and position feedback, featuring a 12H7 blind hollow shaft. For equipment using this model, we can manufacture a custom replacement matched to the original mechanical mounting, pulse count, and wiring requirements for maintenance and spare-part replacement.
This model provides 1024 PPR, with CI identifying HTL outputs with complementary signals. The signals include A and B channels, a C index pulse, and their complementary signals. The custom encoder matches the original output levels, phasing, and index signal, allowing the control system to continue reading speed and position feedback in the existing configuration.

The original model operates at 9–26 VDC, while the custom replacement uses 10–30 VDC. Both ranges cover typical 12 VDC and 24 VDC systems. Since this configuration uses HTL outputs, the controller’s input voltage requirements should also be checked to confirm compatibility with both the supply voltage and the output signals.
The encoder has an outer diameter of approximately 60 mm, with internal terminals for field wiring. The custom design matches the original 12H7 bore tolerance, shaft insertion depth, and mounting arrangement, while providing the required wiring space so that the existing installation position and cables can be used.
When wiring, channel C is the index reference signal. It must be connected correctly alongside channels A and B and their complementary signals. If the equipment uses the index pulse for homing or position calibration, its phase relationship with A and B must also be matched to preserve the existing reference position detection.
