CHV58M-A-S is a multiturn absolute encoder with an SSI interface. For equipment still using this model, we can develop a customized product based on the original mechanical installation and signal configuration while retaining the key mounting conditions.
The encoder uses a 10 mm solid shaft with a 36 mm pilot diameter. Its resolution is 4096 × 8192, and the communication interface is SSI. The cable exits from the rear and has a length of 3 meters.
When selecting the final configuration, particular attention should be paid to the code format. The CHV58M-A-S can be configured with either Binary code or Gray code, and one of these two options must be selected. Since different control systems may interpret SSI position data differently, matching the SSI interface and resolution alone is not sufficient; the code format used by the original equipment must also be confirmed.
For the mechanical installation, the 10 mm shaft, 36 mm pilot diameter, and rear cable outlet should correspond to the existing mounting conditions. The 3 m cable length should also be retained according to the actual wiring layout.
For CHV58M-A-S, the most important point during customization is the choice between Binary and Gray code. The original control system’s coding method should therefore be confirmed before the final encoder specification is determined.
