A few days ago, a customer inquired about alternative models for the GM400.Z65. This is an encoder with an SSI communication protocol, and its unique feature is the installation of a "shaft sleeve."
Custom alternatives for this encoder are not common; I remember we made one a long time ago. In fact, encoders with "shaft sleeves" are rarely seen in applications. Generally, a Spring steel coupling would suffice.
However, when customers have needs, we must provide assistance. We accepted this order commission, as it is not a complex production task. We simply need to refer to previous production records and then use the machining equipment to produce the corresponding "shaft sleeve."
The parameters of this encoder are also quite standard, with a resolution of 8192X4096, Gray SSI.
We completed the delivery of the alternative model in a very short time. Since we had a complete solution, we just needed to add an extra set of "shaft sleeves" during the housing machining process.
Yesterday, another customer inquired about the GM400.Z65 product. I felt it was necessary to write a blog post to record this, as there may be friends who need it in the future.
I am not certain if this encoder product has been discontinued, but the fact that three different customers have inquired about it indicates that the product is not easy to procure. It is highly likely that this product is facing procurement difficulties.
