We developed a custom solution for model 14-1436X-200. Selected when stable incremental feedback is required in hazardous industrial environments, especially where control simplicity and pulse reliability are more important than high pulse density. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.
Key Specifications
- Type: incremental encoder
- Resolution: 200 PPR
- Output: push-pull, A/B/0
- Supply: 10–30 VDC
- Output frequency: up to 100 kHz
- Protection: IP66
- Structure: clamping flange, 12 mm solid shaft
- Connection: 2 m cable, 9-core, Ø11.2 mm
- Sensing: photoelectric
- Approval: ATEX flameproof
The 14-14361 series datasheet lists 10–30 VDC supply, short-circuit protected push-pull output, max. 100 kHz output frequency, IP66 protection, 12 mm shaft, and flameproof ATEX construction. It also lists 200 as one of the available pulse-count options.
Decision Snapshot
- Best for: hazardous-area speed feedback with low pulse complexity
- Key fit: standard output
- Avoid if: the system requires fine interpolation, very smooth low-speed control, or high-resolution position tracking

Signal & Feedback Architecture
This model uses standard incremental A/B channels with index pulse 0. The series connection table shows A, B, inverted A, inverted B, 0, and inverted 0 on a 9-core cable, which confirms a conventional incremental push-pull architecture.
Primary engineering value:
200 PPR keeps controller-side counting simple and leaves wide frequency margin at typical shaft speeds.
Primary system constraint:
Low pulse count improves robustness, but it also reduces interpolation capability and fine speed granularity. In other words, this version is selected for signal stability and control simplicity, not for ultra-fine motion resolution.
Mechanical & Installation Focus
The series is positioned for mechanically demanding environments and uses a flameproof enclosure with clamping flange mounting. The datasheet specifies max. 6000 rpm, axial load 60 N, and radial load 80 N.
Primary mechanical value: robust hazardous-area construction with defined shaft load limits.
Primary mechanical constraint: load limits still define lifetime boundary. Even on low-PPR versions, misalignment increases shaft stress, vibration, and bearing wear. Mechanical simplicity does not remove installation discipline.
Wiring & EMC Discipline
The electrical output is still edge-based push-pull incremental feedback, so EMC discipline remains important even though pulse density is modest. The series data lists short-circuit protected outputs and max. 40 mA per channel.
Primary commissioning risk: wiring quality, shielding, and controller input setup.
Primary system judgment: lower pulse count improves tolerance to noise, but it does not eliminate grounding and routing requirements. In hazardous industrial installations, stable edges still depend on cable discipline.
Failure Logic & Diagnostics
Typical failure patterns:
- no signal → wiring or supply issue
- unstable counts → shielding or grounding problem
- poor speed feedback quality → pulse count too low for the control requirement
Engineering conclusion:
At 200 PPR, the more likely limitation is application fit, not encoder capability.
Integration & Compatibility
- Suitable for hazardous-area incremental feedback systems
- Good fit for speed monitoring and basic counting tasks
- Works well where push-pull incremental output is preferred over network configuration
- Not suitable for fine position interpolation or absolute positioning without homing
Lead Time
Typical production lead time: 15 working days. Custom adaptation can be developed around cable length, output configuration, and installation requirements.
