14-1436X-200 RS422 Scaling and Keyed Shaft

For 14-1436X-200, EncoderWorks can provide a custom compatible replacement focused on 10–30 V RS422 receiver matching, 200 PPR controller scaling, and ATEX keyed-shaft alignment. This model should not be treated as interchangeable with 180, 250, or 256 PPR versions. The output may look stable, while the machine still calculates the wrong distance, speed, or angular position if the controller scaling is not updated.

The 14-1436X-200 is an ATEX incremental rotary encoder configuration with photoelectric sampling, 200 PPR, 10–30 V RS422 output switching, A/B/0 plus inverted signal channels, IP66 protection, Ø12 mm keyed shaft, clamping flange, and 9-core 2 m cable connection. At 200 PPR, frequency margin is usually comfortable, but signal mapping and reference-pulse handling still require careful verification.

The first failure boundary is exact pulse scaling. If the PLC or counter remains configured for 250, 300, 360, or another value, the encoder can produce clean A/B edges while the calculated motion value is wrong. Quadrature mode and zero-channel use must match the original installation.

This replacement fails when A/B/0 signals are stable, but the controller calculates the wrong machine movement because 200 PPR scaling, quadrature evaluation, or 0-channel reference logic does not match the previous encoder. That is a configuration failure, not a sensing failure.

The second boundary is RS422 differential mapping. A/A-, B/B-, and 0/0- must be wired as matched pairs. A swapped inverted channel may still allow basic counting, but it can reduce noise immunity, disturb direction validation, or cause homing faults.

Mechanically, the Ø12 mm keyed shaft and clamping flange must be checked with the coupling, pulley, or measuring wheel. ATEX suitability, PE shield connection, cable routing, and axial/radial shaft-load limits remain part of the replacement decision.
