We developed a custom solution for the AMG11S29Z0 encoder, intended for hazardous-area rotary feedback systems where multiturn absolute position tracking is required with stable SSI signal transmission. This configuration combines singleturn and multiturn encoding without battery or gear dependency, designed for systems that require continuous position tracking across power cycles. It is not a high-speed solution. It is a signal-controlled and data-consistency-driven configuration.

System Limits

This configuration is limited by SSI clock stability and data transmission integrity, not by mechanical capability.

Multiturn absolute encoding increases data length, which raises dependency on stable clock timing and signal quality. The system does not fail because of shaft load or mechanical speed. It fails when the SSI communication cannot maintain synchronization or when data integrity is lost during transmission.

Priority of limits:

  • Data transmission stability limits system performance before mechanical limits
  • Clock signal integrity defines whether multiturn data can be correctly interpreted

This configuration is not limited by structure. It is limited entirely by signal synchronization and data transmission reliability.

Installation and Wiring Constraints

Electrical installation determines system reliability.

  • SSI communication requires stable clock and data timing
  • Poor shielding introduces signal distortion
  • Grounding errors affect data consistency

Field boundary:

  • Long cable without controlled impedance → controller cannot interpret multiturn data
  • High-noise environment → position feedback becomes invalid
  • Unstable clock signal → communication fails

Mechanical structure is robust. Failures occur on the signal side.

Replacement and Interface Mapping

  • Only valid when system supports SSI multiturn absolute input
  • Suitable for continuous position tracking across power cycles
  • Not applicable for systems with unstable signal environment
  • Interface and connection can be adapted
