Technical Overview of the AMG11S29Z0 Encoder

The AMG11S29Z0 uses SSI as the main interface. The code indicates 29 for 13 bit singleturn + 16 bit multiturn and Z0 for no additional incremental output. This makes it suitable for applications where a larger number of revolutions must be preserved in the absolute data structure without relying on auxiliary pulse channels.

The encoder platform uses optical sensing, solid shaft Ø11 mm, EURO flange B10, and battery-free microGen multiturn technology.

Industrial Integration Considerations

For this model, the most important compatibility factor is the 16-bit multiturn capacity. In many installed systems, total travel mapping and stored position context already depend on this higher multiturn structure, so it should remain unchanged during retrofit.

The mechanical platform should also remain aligned with the original shaft, coupling, and flange reference to keep field installation predictable.

Field Installation and Wiring Notes

SSI timing continuity, shield practice, and original connection form should be checked before release. Whether the installation uses bus cover or M23 connection, the original routing and mating-harness logic should remain aligned with the installed system.
