System Limits

Analog encoder replacement depends on maintaining consistent current output behavior between the encoder and the controller. The 1042216-01 RSA 506 uses a 4–20 mA analog output with 10-bit singleturn resolution and a 160° active angle. Output scaling, active angle configuration, signal direction, preset behavior, and code sequence settings must be matched because differences in current interpretation can cause incorrect position calculation or additional commissioning adjustments.

The mechanical integration boundary includes shaft fit, flange mounting, and installation stability. This model uses a Ø10 mm shaft with partial flat and a clamping flange (61-type) mounting structure. Shaft coupling, partial flat orientation, flange alignment, cable routing, shielding, and grounding continuity should be maintained because mechanical mismatch or electrical interference can affect long-term position measurement accuracy.

Wiring & Installation

The analog interface requires verification of power supply, current output, preset, code sequence, and chassis shield connections. The configuration uses dedicated wiring for +E Volt, 0 Volt, I out, preset, code sequence, and shield. Incorrect current output wiring, poor shielding continuity, or improper grounding may result in unstable feedback values or increased commissioning difficulty.
