We developed a custom solution for the OCD-PPA1G-0810-B110-PRT encoder, intended for systems where bit-parallel absolute position feedback must remain stable under vibration, temperature variation, and industrial electrical noise while using a compact blind-hollow shaft structure. This configuration uses a blind hollow shaft Ø11 mm, 58 mm flange housing, optical sensing, and a bit-parallel interface with push-pull output, making it suitable for control systems that require direct parallel word acquisition rather than serial fieldbus communication. It is not a general-purpose encoder. It is a parallel absolute feedback solution where latch timing, signal wiring quality, and hollow-shaft alignment determine whether the system remains usable. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

Stable operation depends on hollow-shaft fit, radial connector layout, M27 wiring integrity, and correct latch and direction signal integration.
System Limits
- Parallel bit wiring errors or weak signal routing → position word becomes invalid
- Wrong latch or DIR handling → system-level position logic becomes incorrect
- Excess misalignment or shaft overload → lifetime and feedback stability drop
This model is built around a bit-parallel interface, not SSI, Profibus, or PROFINET, so the main system bottleneck is the parallel signal chain rather than network configuration. It provides 10-bit singleturn and 8-bit multiturn absolute feedback, uses mechanical gearing without battery, and outputs Gray code through a push-pull driver. In practice, usable position data depends on correct handling of Bit 1–18, Latch, and DIR, not just on nominal encoder resolution.
Installation and Wiring Constraints
- Use Bit 1 to Bit 18, Latch, DIR, Power Supply, and GND exactly as defined
- Keep the radial M27 26-pin connector wiring stable and shielded
- Respect the static misalignment limit of ±0.3 mm axial / ±0.5 mm radial and the dynamic misalignment limit of ±0.1 mm axial / ±0.2 mm radial
- Do not exceed the blind hollow depth of 30 mm and shaft diameter Ø11 mm fit conditions
- Keep the control-side logic consistent with Gray code and clockwise default sense direction.
Failure boundary:
- Wrong bit mapping → corrupted absolute word
- Wrong latch or DIR logic → incorrect position interpretation
- Excess shaft misalignment → unstable operation and shortened service life
- Poor connector routing → intermittent parallel data faults.
Replacement and Interface Mapping
- Suitable for bit-parallel absolute positioning systems
- Applicable where blind hollow shaft mounting and direct parallel data acquisition are required
- Not suitable where serial interfaces are expected instead of parallel word processing
- Designed for direct PLC or control-word integration, not for fieldbus replacement.
