We developed a custom solution for the OCD-DPC1B-1412-B08V-H72 encoder, intended for systems where Profibus-DP absolute position feedback must remain stable under industrial vibration, EMC exposure, and continuous PLC communication load. This configuration uses a solid Ø8 mm shaft, Ø58 mm synchro flange, optical sensing, and a Profibus DP interface with M12 radial connectors. It is not a pulse encoder and it is not a simple position sensor. It is a fieldbus-integrated system where node addressing, termination, and bus topology determine whether position data remains usable. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

Stable operation depends on flange mounting rigidity, M12 connector integrity, bus wiring quality, and correct Profibus configuration.
System Limits
- Wrong node address or bus configuration → no communication with PLC
- Incorrect termination resistor setup → unstable or intermittent bus signal
- Incorrect preset, scaling, or direction configuration → invalid position data
This model uses Profibus DP (DPV0 / DPV1 / DPV2 Class 2), not SSI, PROFINET, CANopen, or parallel output. The real system bottleneck is fieldbus configuration and signal integrity, not encoder resolution. It provides 12-bit singleturn and 14-bit multiturn absolute feedback with programmable functions including preset, scaling, direction, and diagnostic data. If these parameters are not matched to the PLC and bus topology, the system will receive unusable position data even when the encoder is mechanically normal.
Installation and Wiring Constraints
- Wire Bus A / Bus B / Power / GND correctly via M12 connectors
- Use correct bus in / bus out topology
- Set the node address (0–99) before commissioning
- Configure termination resistors according to network structure
- Maintain proper shielding and grounding for EMC stability
- Do not exceed 50 N axial / 50 N radial shaft load
Failure boundary:
- Address conflict → no Profibus communication
- Wrong termination → intermittent communication faults
- Wrong scaling or preset → incorrect absolute position
- Poor shielding → unstable bus signal
- Excess shaft load → reduced mechanical reliability
Replacement and Interface Mapping
- Suitable for Profibus-DP absolute positioning systems
- Applicable where Ø8 mm shaft, synchro flange, and M12 bus connection are required
- Not suitable where SSI, PROFINET, CANopen, analog, or parallel output is expected
- Best used in systems with controlled Profibus topology and PLC configuration
