The referenced configuration is an optical Profibus version with 12-bit single-turn resolution, binary code, 10–30 VDC supply, and a stainless-steel blind-hollow mechanical package.

Bus Configuration & Communication

The interface is Profibus DPV0 / DPV1 / DPV2 Class 2 with optical isolation on the data interface, transmission up to 12 Mbaud, cycle time from 1 ms, and programmable functions including resolution, scaling, speed filter, preset, counting direction, limit switch, node number, teach mode, and diagnostics. Manual functions include node address selection 0–99 and termination resistor DIP switching in the connection box.

Primary integration value: bus-based single-turn absolute transmission without parallel bit mapping.
Primary risk: address duplication, termination-switch errors, or bus continuity faults.
Best practice is address → termination → bus continuity → power, because this hardware uses switch-based addressing and dedicated bus in/out wiring through a glanded connection box.

Mechanical & Installation Focus

The mechanical package uses stainless steel V2A housing and flange, 14 mm blind hollow shaft, 30 mm insertion depth, and published static/dynamic misalignment limits of ±0.3/±0.5 mm and ±0.1/±0.2 mm. Maximum mechanical speed is 3000 rpm, weight is 1025 g, and friction torque is up to 5 Ncm at 20 °C.

Primary mechanical value: stainless construction for harsher environments.
Primary mechanical constraint: blind-hollow alignment still governs long-term stability. Stainless housing improves durability, but it does not reduce the need for correct shaft tolerance, insertion depth, and alignment quality. That priority is supported by the published misalignment limits and 30 mm hollow-shaft depth.

Wiring & Bus Topology

The electrical connection is radial with 3 cable glands. The connection plan shows Bus line A / B for bus in and bus out, plus Power Supply and GND on both sides of the bus path.

Primary commissioning issue: bus-side setup, not sensing stability.
Most startup problems on this structure come from address, termination, or continuity errors rather than from the encoder core itself. That conclusion follows directly from the published connection-box hardware and line assignment.
