A few days ago, a customer urgently required two alternative products, namely: PVM58I-032AGR0BN-1213 and PVM58I-032AGR0BN-1416. These are two absolute encoders with stainless steel housings. The customer's urgency likely stems from difficulty in procurement.
Let's examine these two products, which belong to the same product series but differ in resolution. From our perspective, these products are standard items with Profibus-DP communication, an outer diameter of 58mm, and a shaft diameter of 6mm. These parameters essentially constitute the complete encoder.
The alternative solution we provided matches the parameters 1:1. The focus of this product is the stainless steel housing, as most similar products have aluminum alloy casings. Therefore, it appears that there are not many alternative options available.

The image above is actually of an aluminum alloy material. The purpose is to show the overall contour. If it were made of stainless steel, it would be silver, which seems to look better.
The customer ordered 9 units of each product, and they were hastily shipped after completion. There was no time to take photos; we will make up for it next time.
One issue to note with the application of these two alternative products is the import of the GSD file. For new customers, we repeatedly emphasize this point. Since the product itself uses Profibus-DP communication, it requires technical personnel who can work with GSD files. This is a necessary condition and must be carefully observed. If one is merely an installer who does not know how to use PLC, please do not purchase.
The delivery time for such alternative products is generally quite fast, as they are considered standard products here. The only thing to note is that we might need a little extra time to manufacture the stainless steel housing, and that's about it.
