Selected when multi-turn absolute feedback is required via SSI with preset, using a 78 mm ATEX blind hollow structure with 14 mm shaft, in Zone 1 & 21 oil and gas environments. Typical production lead time: 15 working days. The referenced configuration combines 12-bit single-turn resolution, 12-bit multi-turn resolution, Gray code, and a mechanical gear train without battery.

Signal & Output Architecture

The interface is SSI with preset and RS422 output, with cycle time from 25 µs and clock speed from 100 kHz to 2 MHz. The signal plan includes DIR, Preset, Clock±, and Data±.

Primary integration value: deterministic point-to-point absolute transmission without network configuration overhead.
Primary limitation: timing discipline and receiving-device compatibility matter more than cable count. This is not a bus-based device; it depends on correct clock/data handling and proper preset logic.

Mechanical & Installation Focus

This version uses stainless-steel V4A / 316L housing and flange, 14 mm blind hollow shaft, 30 mm insertion depth, and shaft load ratings of 60 N axial / 80 N radial. Maximum speed is 3000 rpm, and published static/dynamic misalignment limits are ±0.3/±0.5 mm and ±0.1/±0.2 mm.

Primary mechanical value: hazardous-area approval with corrosion-resistant stainless construction.
Primary mechanical constraint: blind-hollow alignment still governs long-term stability. Hazardous-area certification does not reduce the need for correct shaft tolerance, insertion depth, and alignment quality.

Wiring & Installation

The radial sealed outlet layout exposes GND, Power Supply, DIR, Preset, Clock±, and Data±. Startup time is listed below 1 second. Primary commissioning risk is SSI timing or preset setup rather than sensor behavior. Practical startup order is power → clock/data integrity → direction/preset logic → controller scaling.
