The CRD65-8192R4096C2Z01 belongs to the multiturn electro-optical PROFIBUS encoder family and uses a 13-bit singleturn resolution with 8192 positions per 360° together with a 12-bit multiturn range of 4096 revolutions. In the mechanical family, CRD65 is the synchro-flange platform. This makes it suitable for applications where flange-side alignment and higher-resolution singleturn feedback must both remain unchanged.

The platform supports DP-Slave Class 2 behavior according to Encoder Profile No. 3.062 and includes programmable code sequence, class activation, diagnostics routine, scaling function, resolution per revolution, overall resolution, reference value, and station address logic.

Industrial Integration Considerations

For this model, the most important control-side feature is the 8192-step singleturn resolution. In many machines, that higher granularity is already tied to position mapping, scaling, and switching thresholds in the PLC or drive logic. Preserving it avoids unnecessary recommissioning work.

Mechanically, the CRD65 synchro-flange platform should also be matched carefully. Even when several family members share the same communication behavior, flange-side reference geometry often determines whether a replacement remains straightforward in the field.

Field Installation and Wiring Notes

The Z terminal hood should remain consistent with the installed fieldbus layout. Address switches, integrated bus termination, and the separate paths for supply, Bus In, and Bus Out should remain aligned with the original segment role of the encoder.

The DA15/S assignment should be checked against the installed harness, especially where field replacement is intended to preserve bus polarity and terminating-resistor support without redesigning the wiring.
