The first failure boundary is PROFIBUS configuration. The node address must be unique, and the termination setting must reflect the encoder’s real position on the bus. If the GSD setup, Class 2 scaling, preset value, direction setting, or 12-bit resolution parameter is not reproduced, the PLC may communicate with the encoder while still reading the wrong angle.
