AMG11P13Z0 Absolute Encoder SSI Interface

We developed a custom solution for the AMG11P13Z0 encoder, intended for hazardous-area rotary feedback systems where absolute position feedback is required with stable SSI signal transmission. This configuration uses a solid shaft structure with 13-bit singleturn resolution and SSI interface, designed for systems that require deterministic position data without relying on pulse counting. It is not a high-speed solution. It is a signal-controlled configuration.

System Limits

This configuration is limited by SSI clock frequency and signal integrity, not by mechanical capability.

At the SSI level, the encoder operates within a defined clock range. The system does not fail because of shaft load or mechanical rotation. It fails when the clock signal becomes unstable or when data transmission cannot be correctly interpreted.

Priority of limits:

  • Signal timing becomes unstable before mechanical limits are reached
  • Data transmission fails when clock integrity is not maintained

This configuration is not limited by structure. It is limited entirely by signal synchronization and transmission stability.

Installation and Wiring Constraints

Electrical conditions determine system reliability.

  • SSI requires stable clock and data signal timing
  • Poor shielding introduces timing distortion
  • Grounding errors affect data integrity

Field boundary:

  • Long cable without controlled impedance → controller cannot interpret data
  • Noisy environment → position data becomes invalid
  • Incorrect clock signal → communication fails

Mechanical structure is robust. Installation errors occur on the signal side.

Replacement and Interface Mapping

  • Only valid when system supports SSI absolute input
  • Suitable for deterministic position feedback
  • Not applicable for high-speed dynamic systems
  • Interface and connection can be adapted
