System Limits

The first system boundary is the 5000 PPR push-pull counter limit. RVI70E-021K2A61N-05000 uses A/B/Z feedback with complementary channels and a 10–30 V push-pull output circuit, so the controller must receive the same pulse count, channel polarity, Z reference behavior, and quadrature direction. If the replacement is configured with 4096, 3600, 2048, or another lower pulse count, the machine can fail with proportional speed error, position drift, wrong reference indexing, missed counts, or direction reversal. The 200 kHz output boundary must be reviewed carefully because 5000 PPR can push the controller input and edge timing close to their practical limit at higher shaft speed.

The second boundary is the Ø12 mm clamping-flange installation with 2 m axial cable exit. This version uses an aluminium housing, Ø12 mm × 25 mm shaft, and axial cable route, so shaft fit, flange face, rear cable clearance, gland stress, PE continuity, shielding, sealing exposure, and bearing load must be controlled together. Excessive radial load, flange misalignment, cable pulling force behind the encoder, poor grounding, or damaged sealing can cause bearing stress, signal dropout, water or dust ingress, and early mechanical failure. Explosion-proof suitability must be confirmed against the installed hazardous-area requirement and certificate scope before shipment.

Wiring & Installation

Before replacement, confirm the full installed model code, 5000 PPR requirement, 10–30 V supply, push-pull controller input, A/B/Z and complementary channel mapping, controller counter frequency, 2 m axial cable route, PE connection, shaft/flange dimensions, and hazardous-area requirement. The counter margin should be calculated from real operating speed because a correct mechanical replacement can still fail when the edge rate exceeds the controller’s stable input range.

During installation, the Ø12 mm clamping flange should sit flat and the coupling should not force the shaft off center. Keep the axial cable exit free from pulling force, sharp bending, or vibration load, and maintain PE and shield continuity back to the cabinet. Route encoder wiring away from motor power cables, then verify direction, Z reference behavior, and count stability at low and operating speed before returning the machine to service.
