The replacement unit operates as a multi-turn absolute encoder using an SSI interface with Gray code output, ensuring compatibility with established PLC and motion controller settings. Position feedback is resolved at 4096 counts per revolution combined with 4096 multi-turn revolutions, allowing precise absolute positioning across extended motion ranges and repeated cycles. The encoder functions on a DC 10–32 V supply and supports SSI clock frequencies up to 300 kHz, enabling stable and deterministic data transmission. Mechanically, the design supports continuous operation at shaft speeds up to 8000 rpm and incorporates structural reinforcement to withstand 100 g shock and 20 g vibration.
