We developed a custom solution for the OCD-PPA1B-0413-B15S-PRT encoder, intended for systems where bit-parallel absolute position feedback must remain stable under industrial noise, compact blind-hollow shaft mounting, and direct PLC input conditions. This configuration uses a blind hollow Ø15 mm shaft, Ø58 mm blind-hollow flange, M23 26-pin radial connector, optical sensing, and a bit-parallel push-pull interface. It is not a serial encoder and it is not a fieldbus device. It is a parallel absolute feedback solution where bit mapping, latch timing, DIR logic, and hollow-shaft alignment determine whether the position word remains usable. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

Stable operation depends on hollow-shaft fit, radial connector stability, shielding quality, and correct latch and direction signal integration.
System Limits
- Wrong bit mapping → corrupted absolute position word
- Latch not controlled → unstable PLC sampling during motion
- Excess shaft misalignment → shortened service life and unstable feedback
This model is built around bit-parallel output, not SSI, Profibus, or PROFINET. The encoder provides 13-bit singleturn and 4-bit multiturn absolute feedback, using binary code and push-pull output driver. The real system bottleneck is therefore not only encoder resolution, but whether the controller can correctly read Bit 1 to Bit 17, Latch, and DIR through the 26-pin connector. If wiring, latch timing, or direction logic is wrong, the control system will receive incorrect position data even when the encoder body is mechanically normal.
Installation and Wiring Constraints
- Use Bit 1 to Bit 17, Latch, DIR, Power Supply, and GND exactly as defined
- Keep the M23 26-pin radial connector wiring stable and shielded
- Respect the blind hollow Ø15 mm shaft and 30 mm depth fit condition
- Keep static misalignment within ±0.3 mm axial / ±0.5 mm radial
- Keep dynamic misalignment within ±0.1 mm axial / ±0.2 mm radial
- Do not exceed 3000 rpm mechanical speed limit
Failure boundary:
- Wrong latch handling → intermittent position jumps
- Wrong DIR logic → reversed position interpretation
- Poor connector shielding → bit-level data errors
- Excess misalignment → unstable operation and reduced bearing life
Replacement and Interface Mapping
- Suitable for bit-parallel absolute positioning systems
- Applicable where Ø15 mm blind hollow shaft, M23 connector, and binary parallel output are required
- Not suitable where serial interface, fieldbus integration, or loose shaft fit is expected
- Best used in PLC systems that can manage parallel bit input and latch timing correctly
