DAB58-M360WB01: Notes on an Alternative Solution for an Analog Absolute Encoder (DAB65/66)

This is a model introduced by TWK company in 2006, which is an analog absolute encoder. The customer's inquiry this time is for a 58 series product, with the model number: DAB58-M360WB01.

Let's first review the parameters of this encoder:

Starting with the installation dimensions, it has a flange of 58mm and a shaft diameter of 6mm, belonging to the synchronous flange series. Its wiring method is a 12-pin connector with side exit. In terms of size, it is not complex and has a rather standard appearance.

Next are the application parameters. This encoder has a 12-bit resolution, which is 4096. It is a single-turn absolute encoder.

With these data, we can proceed to match the solution.

We start by creating a 58mm synchronous flange according to the flange type, paired with a 6mm shaft, and then add a 58mm housing. The hardware set is essentially complete. Subsequently, design a circuit with the same 12-bit resolution to match the scheme. Finally, we use an M23-12pin aviation connector as the linking component.

In this way, our alternative solution is complete.

Similarly, the DAB65 and DAB66 series are also replaced using this method.

Since this product was introduced quite some time ago, it is difficult for everyone to procure normally. Therefore, we publish this alternative solution in the form of notes. We hope to help more people who have such needs.
