RVI70E-011K1A66I-03600 Encoder with RS422 Edge Timing

EncoderWorks can configure RVI70E-011K1A66I-03600 as a custom compatible replacement solution for explosion-proof incremental feedback where 3600 PPR, 5 V RS422 output, and stainless housing must remain aligned with the installed control system. The failure boundary is defined by differential A/B/Z mapping, 200 kHz counter margin, edge timing, 1 m axial cable routing, Ø10 mm clamping-flange fit, and hazardous-area sealing. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

System Limits

This model is used where high-resolution incremental feedback is required in harsh or hazardous environments. A compatible replacement must preserve the controller’s expected 3600 pulse scaling, RS422 line-driver behavior, complementary signal structure, stainless mechanical envelope, and explosion-proof installation boundary.

The first system boundary is the RS422 signal and counter-frequency relationship. RVI70E-011K1A66I-03600 uses 3600 PPR with A/B/Z and complementary channels, so the controller must receive the same differential channel mapping, voltage level, reference pulse behavior, and quadrature direction. At higher shaft speed, the pulse frequency can approach the controller’s usable counter margin even though the encoder class allows up to a 200 kHz output boundary. If the replacement is built with push-pull output, wrong line-driver level, missing complementary channels, incorrect Z reference, or poor edge timing, the machine can fail with missed counts, unstable speed feedback, direction reversal, reference loss, or counter overload.

The second boundary is the stainless Ø10 mm clamping-flange installation in a hazardous-area housing. This version uses a 1 m axial cable and stainless housing, so shaft fit, flange face, cable gland orientation, PE continuity, shielding, sealing exposure, and bearing load must be treated as part of the replacement. Excessive radial load, flange misalignment, short cable routing tension, poor grounding, or damaged sealing can cause bearing stress, signal dropout, water or dust ingress, and early mechanical failure. Explosion-proof compliance must be confirmed against the installed hazardous-area requirement and certificate scope before shipment.

Wiring & Installation

Before replacement, confirm the installed model code, 3600 PPR requirement, 5 V RS422 input compatibility, A/B/Z and complementary channel mapping, controller counter frequency, cable length, axial cable exit, PE connection, shaft/flange dimensions, and hazardous-area requirement. The 1 m cable length should be checked against the cabinet route because a mechanically correct encoder can still fail if the cable is pulled or extended without proper shielding.

During installation, the Ø10 mm clamping flange should sit flat and the coupling should not force the shaft off center. Maintain PE and shield continuity, keep the axial cable exit free from bending load, and route the encoder cable away from motor power wiring. After installation, verify direction, Z reference, and count stability at low and operating speed before the machine is returned to service.

Custom Compatible Solution

  • Match 3600 PPR, 5 V RS422 line-driver behavior, A/B/Z channels, and complementary signal mapping
  • Preserve controller counter margin, edge timing, reference pulse behavior, and direction logic
  • Adapt the Ø10 mm shaft, clamping flange, 1 m axial cable, stainless housing, and sealing boundary
  • Review shaft load, PE continuity, cable strain, IP exposure, and hazardous-area requirement before shipment
