RVI70E-021K2A66N-01024 Encoder with RS422 Axial Margin

EncoderWorks can configure RVI70E-021K2A66N-01024 as a custom compatible replacement solution for explosion-proof incremental feedback where 1024 PPR, 5 V RS422 output, 2 m axial cable routing, and Ø12 mm clamping-flange fit must remain aligned with the installed counter. The failure boundary is defined by differential A/B/Z mapping, edge timing, reference pulse behavior, axial cable clearance, PE continuity, and hazardous-area sealing. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

This model is used where a controller expects 1024 PPR differential quadrature feedback from a protected incremental encoder. A compatible replacement must preserve the RS422 line-driver behavior, complementary channel structure, Z reference timing, Ø12 mm shaft interface, aluminium housing envelope, and explosion-proof installation boundary.

System Limits

The first system boundary is the 1024 PPR RS422 counter relationship. RVI70E-021K2A66N-01024 uses A/B/Z feedback with complementary channels and a 5 V RS422 output circuit, so the controller must receive the same pulse count, differential signal level, channel polarity, reference pulse behavior, and direction logic. If the replacement is built with push-pull output, wrong line-driver level, missing complementary channels, inverted A/B order, or poor edge timing, the machine can fail with missed counts, unstable speed feedback, direction reversal, reference loss, or complete input mismatch. The 200 kHz output boundary should still be checked against shaft speed and the controller’s stable counter range.

The second boundary is the Ø12 mm clamping-flange installation with 2 m axial cable exit. This version uses an aluminium housing, Ø12 mm × 25 mm shaft, and axial cable route, so shaft fit, flange face, rear cable clearance, gland stress, PE continuity, shielding, sealing exposure, and bearing load must be controlled together. Excessive radial load, flange misalignment, cable pulling force behind the encoder, poor grounding, or damaged sealing can cause bearing stress, signal dropout, water or dust ingress, and early mechanical failure. Explosion-proof suitability must be confirmed against the installed hazardous-area requirement and certificate scope before shipment.

Wiring & Installation

Before replacement, confirm the full installed model code, 1024 PPR requirement, 5 V supply, RS422 controller input, A/B/Z and complementary channel mapping, controller counter margin, 2 m axial cable route, PE connection, shaft/flange dimensions, and hazardous-area requirement. The RS422 output should not be replaced by a push-pull assumption because the same pulse count and shaft interface can still fail when the controller input expects a differential line driver.

During installation, the Ø12 mm clamping flange should sit flat and the coupling should not force the shaft off center. Keep the axial cable exit free from pulling force, sharp bending, or vibration load, and maintain PE and shield continuity back to the cabinet. Route encoder wiring away from motor power cables, then verify direction, Z reference behavior, and count stability before returning the machine to service.

Custom Compatible Solution

  • Match 1024 PPR, 5 V RS422 output, A/B/Z channels, and complementary signal mapping
  • Preserve differential line-driver behavior, edge timing, Z reference behavior, direction logic, and controller input compatibility
  • Adapt the Ø12 mm shaft, clamping flange, 2 m axial cable, aluminium housing, and sealing boundary
  • Review PE continuity, rear cable clearance, shaft load, IP exposure, and hazardous-area requirement before shipment
