OCF-DPC1B-0013-B14V-H3E Profibus Termination Boundary

EncoderWorks can configure OCF-DPC1B-0013-B14V-H3E as a custom compatible replacement solution for absolute singleturn Profibus DP feedback where node address, bus termination, 13-bit position data, Zone 2 & 22 connection-cap wiring, and Ø14 mm blind-hollow fit must remain aligned with the installed PLC project. The failure boundary is not only the 10–30 VDC supply, but also bus-in / bus-out polarity, termination status, Class 2 parameter mapping, preset behavior, stainless mounting, and hazardous-area approval scope. Typical production lead time: 15 working days.

This model is used where the control system reads absolute singleturn position over a Profibus DP network instead of discrete parallel wires or incremental pulses. A compatible replacement must preserve the 13-bit singleturn data structure, Binary position code handling inside the bus device, node number, termination logic, configuration-file compatibility, radial gland connection layout, and Ø14 mm blind-hollow mechanical interface.

System Limits

The first system boundary is the Profibus DP network configuration. OCF-DPC1B-0013-B14V-H3E uses a Profibus DP interface with Class 2 functions, so the PLC project must see the same device behavior, node address, resolution parameter, counting direction, preset function, velocity scaling, diagnostic response, and process-data expectation. If the replacement is installed with a wrong node number, incompatible configuration file, different parameter length, wrong preset behavior, or mismatched direction setting, the network may still detect a device but the axis can report wrong position, wrong direction, missing diagnostics, or unstable commissioning status.

The second boundary is the bus physical layer and Zone 2 & 22 connection cap. Bus line A/B, bus-in / bus-out continuity, supply reference, GND, shield handling, termination switch status, and outgoing-bus behavior must match the machine topology. A correct encoder can still fail if the terminal resistor is enabled at the wrong point, the outgoing bus is unintentionally cut, A/B is reversed, shield continuity is poor, or the gland installation compromises the hazardous-area sealing boundary.

Wiring & Installation

Before replacement, confirm the full installed model code, Profibus DP node address, transmission rate setting, GSD or configuration-file requirement, Class 2 parameter use, preset requirement, counting direction, velocity scaling, diagnostic mapping, and terminal resistor position. Do not treat this as a Bit Parallel or incremental replacement, because the controller is reading a configured bus device rather than separate data bits or A/B/Z pulses.

The blind-hollow shaft installation must also be checked carefully. The Ø14 mm hollow interface, clamp condition, shaft insertion depth, torque restraint, radial connection-cap clearance, static and dynamic misalignment, stainless housing boundary, and gland sealing must be controlled together. Poor clamping, excessive shaft offset, side load, loose cable glands, or shield discontinuity can cause bus dropouts, mechanical drift, intermittent diagnostics, or early bearing wear.

Custom Compatible Solution

  • Match Profibus DP device behavior, 13-bit singleturn feedback, node address range, and Class 2 parameter expectations
  • Preserve bus-in / bus-out A/B wiring, terminal resistor logic, GND reference, shield continuity, and supply wiring
  • Adapt the Ø14 mm blind-hollow shaft, stainless 58 mm B-flange class housing, radial Zone 2 & 22 cable-gland connection, and sealing boundary
  • Review configuration-file compatibility, preset direction, velocity scaling, diagnostics, hazardous-area scope, and mechanical misalignment before shipment
