We have developed a custom solution for model OCD-DPC1B-1412-B100-H72, built around a compact 58 mm blind hollow-shaft platform with a Ø10 mm shaft bore and Profibus Class 2 communication. The configuration reflects a compact hollow-shaft encoder structure with radial M12 connector layout for separated power, bus in, and bus out routing.

Wiring and Installation Notes

This model uses a Profibus interface with optical isolation, so long-term stability depends more on bus layout discipline than on the encoder body itself. In practice, communication faults are more often caused by address conflicts, inconsistent termination, or connector-side routing errors than by hardware failure. The platform supports manual address selection from 0 to 99 and termination resistor switching, so commissioning should confirm node logic and bus end conditions before scaling, preset, or filter settings are changed. It also supports programmable resolution, transmission ratio, speed filtering, preset, counting direction, limit switch behavior, node number, teach mode, and diagnostics, which is useful in retrofit work but also makes incorrect parameter inheritance a common source of stable communication with incorrect position behavior.

The radial 3 × M12 layout separates power, bus in, and bus out, which helps wiring organization but also makes connector assignment a frequent startup mistake if installation is done too quickly. Mechanically, the Ø10 mm blind hollow shaft simplifies shaft mounting, but alignment and clamping quality still matter. The published axial and radial offset limits are relatively tight, so in practical installations shaft seating and alignment are often a more common long-term issue than electrical mismatch.
