System Limits

The first system boundary is the HTL incremental signal path. The controller depends on correct channel assignment, stable output switching levels, phase relationship, and reliable pulse evaluation. A replacement may appear electrically connected while still failing if the output level, signal sequence, pulse scaling, or controller input configuration does not match the original system requirements.

At 2048 PPR, the counter frequency capability and signal quality must also be considered. Incorrect pulse evaluation, poor shield grounding, or unstable supply reference may create intermittent counting errors, incorrect speed feedback, or unreliable machine positioning.

The second boundary is the taper hollow-shaft mechanical interface. The Ø17 mm taper hollow shaft, 86-flange mounting, torque bracket condition, and coupling alignment must remain consistent with the original installation. Mechanical mismatch can introduce bearing stress, vibration, and unstable feedback signals even when the electrical output is correct.

Wiring & Installation

Before replacement, confirm the complete installed configuration including 2048 PPR requirement, HTL output type, channel assignment, supply voltage, cable gland arrangement, shield connection, Ø17 mm taper hollow shaft dimensions, flange mounting, and torque bracket requirements.

The replacement should be commissioned based on the primary incremental feedback channels. ADS-related diagnostic connections from the original configuration should not be considered part of the replacement function unless specifically required by the application.

During installation, maintain a low-resistance shield connection and separate encoder wiring from motor, brake, inverter, and high-current cables. The taper hollow shaft should be installed with correct alignment and without excessive radial force or coupling stress.
