The 862229127-2500 encoder is said to have been unprocurable for a long time. The first inquiry we received was at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic from a maintenance unit in the wind power industry. The customer was in a hurry and needed 12 such encoders.
We provided an alternative product solution.
There were two challenges in finding an alternative for this product: one was the lack of detailed specifications, and the other was the unique pulse count. The customer only had the model number and could not provide any documentation. We searched many websites before finally finding the relevant information. Additionally, there was the issue of the pulse count; 2500-pulse products are relatively rare, and we did not have any ready-made code disks.
We sourced parts for the alternative solution and ultimately achieved perfect delivery within 15 days.
The 862229127 encoder is indeed rare. Last year, two more wind power companies placed orders, both from wind farms in the north. For this, we specially ordered a batch of components. This year, we still have customers purchasing this encoder from time to time. Just yesterday, we received a new inquiry.
I think it's best to write a journal entry. This might help more people in need, as this product has been discontinued for a long time. Some maintenance units in the wind power sector have found us after much inquiry. At present, perhaps only we can provide it. It is almost the only solution.
I plan to set aside time later to prepare another batch of spare parts to shorten the production cycle.
