FG4S-360G-90G-NG Incremental Encoder Mid Pulse Stability

EncoderWorks Team
4 monthsago

We developed a custom solution for the FG4S-360G-90G-NG encoder, intended for heavy-duty industrial environments where moderate pulse detail is required without moving too early into frequency-sensitive operating limits. This configuration uses a 360 pulse output, positioned between low-pulse stability designs and higher-pulse sensitivity models. It is selected when the system needs more usable feedback detail while still preserving a clear electrical margin under vibration, shock, and industrial interference. Typical production lead time: 15 working days under confirmed configuration.

Signal stability at this pulse level depends directly on the structure, cable routing, and installation quality shown here.

System Limits

This configuration is limited by signal transmission quality, not by mechanical capability.

At 360 pulses, the encoder still operates with comfortable electrical margin, so frequency is not the first operating restriction. The system does not fail because of shaft strength or housing design. It fails when shielding quality is poor, when grounding is unstable, or when cable routing degrades signal integrity under real industrial conditions.

Priority of limits:

  • Signal transmission becomes unstable before mechanical limits are reached
  • Frequency margin remains wide enough that installation quality defines usable performance

The first failure point is signal transmission, not mechanical strength.

Installation and Wiring Constraints

Electrical installation determines whether the encoder can maintain usable output.

  • Shielded twisted-pair wiring is required for stable pulse transmission
  • Inverted and non-inverted channels must be routed as matched pairs
  • Poor grounding or shielding will distort signal edges and reduce reliability

Field boundary:

  • Long cable without proper shielding → pulses become unusable
  • Parallel routing with power lines → interference degrades signal quality
  • Incorrect signal pairing → controller cannot interpret signal correctly

Incorrect wiring will invalidate signal usability before any mechanical limit is reached.

Replacement and Interface Mapping

  • Only valid for systems supporting incremental pulse input
  • Suitable for applications requiring moderate resolution with strong signal margin
  • Not applicable where very high pulse density or extreme frequency output is required
  • Output form and connection configuration can be adapted
